Yoga Nidra Meditation is a sleep based guided meditation that uses a series of body breath and awareness techniques to take you to a deep state of relaxation. Yoga Nidra allows you to still the mind by consciously entering the sleep state. In this state of deep relaxation the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, and the left and right hemispheres of the brain begin to balance. As the mind slows down, the healing energy of the body, that is used in thinking activity during normal consciousness, is released to restore and renew the body. A forty-five minute session of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent of over three hours of restful sleep.
